TODDLER ACTIVITIES FOR BLUE WEEK

Updated: Dec 30, 2023

Elisa and Maria have been busy putting together toddler activities for learning colors and shapes. Recently, Leland learned the color blue and the shape of a square. We would like to share four of Leland's favorite BLUE week activities!

HOMEMADE PLAY DOUGH W/ MR. POTATO HEAD PIECES

A fun way to mix up regular play dough time is to add other toys and regular household items. Leland enjoyed adding blue Mr. Potato Head pieces to play dough this week. We LOVE our homemade play dough! Our mom used this recipe to make many batches of play dough for us when we were kids. The Kool-Aid makes it smell good and it is taste safe. This play dough lasts SUPER long if it's in an airtight container.

Essential oils make a great addition to the play dough. Think lavender for a calming effect...

FISH BUBBLES

Elisa thought of this easy and quick activity. It uses contact paper and pom poms. The idea is to match various size pom poms to the correct size circles, or "fish bubbles". Just tape the contact paper sticky side up with painters tape to the wall after drawing on the opposite side with permanent marker. There are endless activities to be made with this sticky canvas.

TUNNEL FUN

Maria invented this simple activity. It uses paper, tape and toys of your choosing. First, we had Leland blowing a pom pom under the paper. We switched it up by using little toy cars to drive through the tunnels. He enjoyed both!

BLUEBERRY MUFFINS

Leland loves to help in the kitchen! He says "help stir?". Each week we try to eat foods that match the color we are working on currently. Leland helped make these easy BLUEberry muffins and enjoyed them for breakfast and snack.
