FUN HALLOWEEN/FALL ACTIVITIES

Updated: Dec 30, 2023

This Fall Elisa decided to do something a little different with Leland and Otto. With my help, we organized out a chart of different activities, that we would use over two weeks in October. On the chart, we had six categories: sensory, art, books, ABCs/123s/colors, fine motor and science. We also used a huge calendar to plan out each days. This served us with a daily activity list and record of things the boys enjoyed. This blog post is different than previous posts. I've included a photo album of our fun and written a short description of a few projects they enjoyed most.

PLAY DOUGH SENSORY TRAY

First up, a sensory play dough tray! They both loved doing this. Leland kept saying "this is my jack-o-lantern." It was fun to see what ideas they had in mind. Otto just kept putting stuff on the play dough and taking it off.

For this activity, I found random things that were fall/halloween themed and put it on the tray. This entertained them for about 45 minutes, so that was a plus. At the bottom of this post you'll find some links to other ideas for play dough trays.

PUMPKIN WASHING

Washing pumpkins?!?!?!?! It was a total hit for these two! I had it set up for them after their nap, so it was a surprise. Leland was a little sad at first because the pumpkins were "dirty". But, after he realized that there was soapy water he was excited to start washing.

For this activity, I took washable markers and scribbled all over the pumpkins. I put a towel on the ground just in case there were some spills...there was. We had toothbrushes and makeup sponges for cleaning tools.

Happy Fall!!
