So, let’s talk subscription boxes, specifically BoxyCharm and BoxyCharm BoxyLuxe. I have been receiving these boxes since February and thought I would share some of the highlights, a.k.a. my favorite products.
First, is it worth it? I pay $21.00 a month for the regular BoxyCharm- I get 4-5 full-sized products each month. Then every 3 months I pay an ADDITIONAL $28.99 to receive the BoxyLuxe and get 8-9 full-sized products. So, is it worth it? I say yes if you like to try new products and have people you like to share with, also if you like to play with makeup. If there is just one product in the box that you want to try, then no, this would not be worth the money- just buy the one product you want and call it a day. Maria and I like to play with makeup and share different products with each other- there is usually at least one item in the box that I think, “Maria NEEDS to have this!”. There is going to come a point, probably soon, where I will suspend my subscription for awhile. There will always be FOMO, but hey, a girl can only use so much makeup at a time (and my vanity can only store so much!).
Next, have I received anything I LOVE and want to (or would) buy again? Absolutely! Here are some of the highlights. (I am pulling product images and links from the BoxyCharm post.)
Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast (texture spray): As a gal with short hair- this is a MUST! I can also see it working great on other hairstyles, but seeing as I can only speak to short hair, I. LOVE. IT. Would (likely will) buy again- when it goes on sale, of course ;)
Tarte - tarteist PRO glow & blush: This is a multi-use product that I can get behind! Contour, bronzer, blush, highlighter in one- plus the colors can be used for eye shadow and eyeliner- whoa!
IT Cosmetics - Confidence in a Cream: This is some of the creamiest, moisturizing face cream I have ever used! It is a little heavy for me in the summertime, so I have been using it as a night cream until winter hits- this is when I really need the extra moisture! This a great product and I would definitely buy it again.
Brushes- I have received several different brands of brushes and have loved them all. In my opinion- you can NEVER have too many brushes, especially if you are cleaning them on a regular basis (which I don’t) and are trying out different looks/products that require different types of brush.
Touch in Sol - No Poreblem Primer and Prime Essence: I have received both of these projects in two different boxes and have loved both products. I think this is a very good primer that smooths pores and allows for great makeup application.
Morphe Eye shadow Palette: I never thought I would love orange eye shadow. For real. With this palette you can create so many looks- and the depth of color you can achieve? Yes, please! Also, the quality is great and I am sure that any color scheme would be just as good as this one if orange isn’t your thing (which it should be, just saying).
