FIND FRIDAY: AMAZON HOME

Updated: Dec 30, 2023

A new home = a lot of Amazon shopping!

At this point I am sure the mailman/UPS & FedEx drivers/my husband are getting pretty tired of the smiley Amazon packages coming to our front door...but I'm over here like- add to cart, add to cart, add to cart...

In my defense, we have upgraded some of the light fixtures and decor based on the new layout of our house- and Joel has given the green light to everything I have chosen- plus, some items are just basics that you need! (Can you tell I am trying to justify here??)

Butter. Seriously, butter. I saw these sheets on a few social media accounts I follow and I gave in to the hype, and boy am I glad I did! They are so luxurious- and the best part- a KING SIZE set is $29.70- I kid you not! There are a ton of patterns and colors to choose from and they wash up great- they are just as soft, of not softer than the right after the first wash. Girl, get you some!

Something so simple can make the biggest difference. I don't know what it is about older homes (our house was built in 1961), but there NEVER seems to be enough light, so where ever/whenever we can we update light fixtures to LED. The light LED fixtures give off, plus the energy efficiency, and the life expectancy- it is a no-brainer. My handy hubby was able to install this light fixture in about 10 minutes in the hallway outside of the bedrooms/bathroom and it has been working great!

While we're on the topic of lighting, let's talk about feature pieces. As soon as we started designing our lounge I knew that I wanted a cool chandelier to center the room. It didn't necessarily need to be that big, but I wanted something unique. After some back and forth, we decided on this spherical light and we love it! It fits in with the dark and moody, yet cozy vibe of the room and it gives off a good amount of light so it is functional, too!

Ok, so this purchase was a little more me-focused, but it was definitely needed! We lost some storage in our bathroom area until we are able to fully finish the downstairs bathroom (we have a functioning toilet and sink, and that's all that matters at this point), so I needed to find a solution for my jewelry and other odds and ends. Cue this bad boy (I even assembled it myself and it wasn't that bad and it didn't take me too long). I was impressed with the quality and the amount of crap I can fit in it!

This right here is just adorable. The cat clawed up the old shower curtain so when we moved I knew I wanted to get a new one (and bonus, in the new place the curtain is high enough off the ground where Cat doesn't have a whole lot of interest in digging his claws in #winning). I've always liked the look of a ruffled curtain, but wanted to make sure it stayed "manly" enough for Joel, so cue the two-tone linen curtain before you. And the big buttons? Yes, please! It fits right in with the rustic/farmhouse feel of the decor and I love it. Who'd have thought you could love a shower curtain. Weird, amiright?

I have so much more to share, but this will have to do for now. Joel and I have had so much fun putting our stamp on our home and I'll make sure I keep sharing our #funfinds 😊
