HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW?

Updated: Dec 30, 2023

GARDEN UPDATE: The garden is in and growing like crazy! Even though it is a lot of work (an we can’t get away much during the summer), my husband and I see the many benefits of planting as much as possible so we can preserve and enjoy the fruits of our labor during the long winter months. This year our garden is 1,000 square feet, plus two smaller raised beds. We decided to plant tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash, a variety of peppers, radishes, strawberries, melons, watermelons, carrots, asparagus, lettuce, onions, and garlic. We are using straw bales and raised rows, as well as trellising for some of the vining plants. We are hoping to preserve all sorts of goodies (last year we canned over 100 quarts of food and froze and dehydrated a bunch, too!). When the garden gets in full swing I will be sending out more updates. Happy Tuesday!
