Hey everyone! I wanted to share with you a quick, easy craft that can be used in many different ways- from decorating to parties to an embellishment for a card- it just depends on your style! I was able to make this MINI TASSEL GARLAND in less than an hour, with supplies I already had around the house so the cost = FREE (yay!!). My end goal of this craft was to have something to brighten up my living room wall hanging (which I like to decorate for the different seasons/holidays). This little craft is only phase one of “summer-izing” my home. The skill level required is easy meaning pretty much anyone can make this. So round up the list of supplies and start creating!
SUPPLIES:
Embroidery floss (of all different colors- or to match your décor.I already know I will be making one of these for the 4th of July :))
Scissors
Ruler
Coordinating thread & needle
(Yep- that’s it!)
DIRECTIONS:
1. Once you pick out your colors/pattern (I went with a bright rainbow theme), cut 11, 9-inch pieces of the floss.
2. Cut the 11 pieces of floss in half (you will now have20, 4.5-inch pieces).
3. Take out 2 halved pieces- one will be used to tie the tassel (the other you can use if you are making 2 of the same color tassel otherwise it is a scrap).
4. Fold these pieces in half and hold on to the loop at the top and wrap the tying piece around and knot it twice.\
5. Repeat steps 1-4 until you have the desired number of tassels. To make a garland, go to the next step- if you are only using it as an embellishment you are done!
6. Thread your needle to the desired length of the garland.Insert the needle through the top loop of each tassel until each is attached to the garland.Tie of f the end and trim the thread (if needed).
7. Hang and enjoy your cute craft :)
